About Summer
The June solstice marks the longest day of the year and the start of summer in the Northern Hemisphere. It usually falls on 20 or 21 June. After months of short, cold days, this is the turning point — evenings stay light past 9pm, parks fill up, and the barbecue finally comes out of the shed.
