Why I’m on Agile
I run a countdown site, so maybe this was always going to happen. Agile prices change every half hour and get published a day ahead, so you can watch the cheap windows coming. Some days they go negative and you get paid to use electricity. On the best of those I’ve been paid to put a hundred miles on the car. Putting the dishwasher on stops being a chore.
I work from home and get through plenty of electricity during the day, so shifting the heavy stuff into the cheap windows takes a real chunk off the bill. Agile won’t suit everyone. If you’d rather have a fixed price and not think about it, Octopus has plenty of other tariffs, and the referral works the same either way.

When does the Octopus Energy £50 referral credit arrive?
After your first Direct Debit clears, not when you sign up. It turns up as credit on your Octopus account.
Do I have to click an Octopus referral link or can I enter a code?
Click the link. The reward is attached to the click, so typing the address in manually or entering the code elsewhere often won’t register.
Can I use more than one Octopus Energy referral link?
No. Only one referral can be attached to a new account, and you can’t collect several rewards for one household switch.
Can existing Octopus Energy customers use a referral link?
No, referrals are for new accounts. If you’re already with Octopus you can refer other people instead, using your own link.
Does switching to Octopus Energy interrupt my supply?
No. Switching supplier is a billing change, not a physical one. Nothing about your gas or electricity supply gets interrupted.
